Manual index/Airport page
Historical METAR archive
Observation history for any airport. Each query covers up to a 60-day window; to go further back in time just shift the date range. OGIMET coverage starts in the early 2000s, with Iowa State ASOS as a fallback for US airports that have deeper histories.
How to open
- Web dashboard: the «METAR archive» card lives in the airport page below the 6-hour history
- iOS app: tap the clock-arrow icon in the Airport Detail toolbar (next to the favourites star) to open the Archive sheet
Date picker
Four preset chips (7 / 14 / 30 / 60 days) for the common windows, plus a custom-range option (dashboard: tap the date pill to open a calendar with month/year jump; iOS: compact DatePicker pair).
Daily heat-strip (dashboard)
A row of cells, one per day, coloured by the worst category observed that day (red/purple = IFR/LIFR, green = VFR only). Lets you spot the problem days at a glance. On iOS the equivalent is the per-day list with a colour dot beside each observation.
Per-day briefing
- Per-category counts (VFR / MVFR / IFR / LIFR)
- Max gust and min visibility of the day (dashboard only)
- 'Significant events only' toggle: shows only observations with wind ≥ 20 kt, gust ≥ 30 kt, visibility < 5 km or a category change (dashboard only)
- All observations collapsed by default — tap to expand (dashboard only; iOS lists everything inline)
Pro
Pro feature. Two-tier caching: past days (immutable) live in cache for ~10 years — the second request is served in milliseconds. Today's bucket refreshes every 30 minutes because new observations keep arriving.
