6-hour QNH trend

8-point altimeter sparkline.

A sparkline of the last 8 altimeter observations (~6 hours at major airports). Tells the pilot whether pressure is rising, falling or stable.

  • Green = rising. Often dry-sector flow, possible improvement
  • Orange = falling. Typically tied to active transitions: rain, thunderstorms, fronts
  • Grey = stable. Common with stable highs or uniform air masses
  • Δ 1H is the numeric change over the last hour in hPa

If the airport reports less than 8 times a day (regional, military) the sparkline may show 'not enough data'.
