METAR alerts by SMS

On the Solo Dashboard plan you can receive an SMS for every new METAR at the airports you choose. The sender is AVIOWEATHER and the message carries the raw METAR.

How to turn it on

1. 1.Verify your phone in Settings → SMS credit (details below).
2. 2.Top up your credit (also from the account area on avioweather.app): €10, €20, €50 packages via Stripe.
3. 3.Open an airport and tap “Alert by SMS”, choosing the duration (1, 6 or 12 hours).

Verifying your number

• The first 3 verifications are free; from the fourth on, each verification SMS costs €0.15.
• Even when it's free, verification always requires available credit (at least €0.15): being free removes the charge, not the requirement to hold credit.
• After the code is sent you stay on the code-entry screen, with the destination number clearly shown — if it's wrong you can change it right away via “Wrong number? Change it”.
• Reloading the page doesn't restart the flow: you return to the code screen.
• If the code doesn't arrive, you can request a new one after 1 minute.
• You can change your verified number at most 2 times per month.
• For safety, the same number can receive at most 5 verification codes per day.

Credit and cost

• Each METAR alert by SMS costs €0.15.
• The phone-verification SMS is free for the first 3 times, then €0.15.
• Credit never expires.
• The history in Settings shows every movement (top-ups, charges and free verifications) with its date.

Managing it

• In Settings → SMS credit you see the airports with SMS on and their remaining time.
• “Turn off all” disables SMS on every airport at once.
• You can turn a single airport off from its “Alert by SMS” button at any time.
